WildChina

Where the plateau ends
and wonder begins
Dinner with a Tibetan family
In Shangri-La, WildChina arranges something that no concierge desk can replicate. An evening inside a traditional Tibetan home, as a genuine guest of the family who lives there. The table is laden with the honest food of the plateau: yak cheese, slow-stewed yak meat, hand-rolled dumplings, and at its centre, a pot of yak butter tea.
A guided visit reveals the architecture of Tibetan domestic life with the timber-framed rooms, the daily rhythms of a household that operates, still, on ancient principles. Warm tsampa and butter tea are offered. Your WildChina guide translates not just the language, but the meaning.
WHAT SETS THIS JOURNEY APART
From 1,000-year-old monasteries to private family homes, WildChina’s relationships open doors that a standard itinerary never will. The spiritual leaders, artisans, and nomadic families you meet are not arranged for general tourism. They are the strengths cultivated by WildChina’s guides who are the soul of all our operations.
Dedicated Tibetan-style meditation and breathing sessions, led by expert instructors at sites of genuine spiritual significance facing the sacred Lion-Roaring Mountain, on open grasslands, inside monastery courtyards.
Western Sichuan remains one of China’s least-visited corridors. The route winds through terrain and communities that receive a fraction of Lhasa’s footfall, yet carry equal spiritual and cultural depth.
Every element: vehicle, guide, monastery visit, family dinner is arranged exclusively for your group. No shared tours, no crowded coaches. The pace and shape of each day is yours.
WildChina understands that food is as much a part of the journey as any monastery or mountain. For every guest, we tailor dining to dietary requirements and preferences, from curated restaurant lists and advance reservations in each destination to facilitating a private chef who travels the full length of the journey. Whether it’s a vegetarian picnic spread at the foot of the mountains or a feast prepared at altitude, your table is considered before your bags are packed.

“Exceeded My Expectations”
Joining Luxury Tribe has exceeded my expectations. I found the event incredibly well-organized and enriching. The Fireside chat has been very helpful and useful because we have had so many insights, numbers, and information about the market. Definitely, it’s very useful for us as an exhibitor to better understand the market before the meetings. That’s for sure very important. The selection of buyers at Luxury Tribe is exceptional and well-curated, catering specifically to high-end clientele, which aligns perfectly with our service focus. The event’s structure, which beautifully balances professional meetings with cultural visits and social interactions, allows for meaningful connections with buyers. It’s a good balance between the meetings and entertaining session, and cultural visit. You can spend time with the buyers and have a drink with the buyer. That’s extremely important because it’s the right mix, the right balance between meetings and fun.
